Sayville Fire Department Helps Save Lives
By Firefighter Wendy Liu
April 20, 2009
Sayville Fire Department volunteers once again hosted a blood drive in honor of
Wilbur Ritter, former Sayville Fire Department Blood Drive Chairperson, who passed away in the line of duty in 2006. As always, department members and residents of Sayville and the surrounding communities came out to donate on April 16th. A total of 49 pints of lifesaving blood was collected. The first 20 donors were treated to t-shirts compliments of Sayville.com, and all donors received special coupons from Oystermans Restaurant & Catering as well as a "goody bag" containing important safety information. The Sayville Fire Department looks forward to a very successful blood drive on September 11th.
