RIDERS OF FIRE MOTORCYCLE CLUB STOP AT SAYVILLES HEADQUARTERS FOR CHARITY MOTORCYCLE POKER RUN EVENT
By Firefighter Wendy Liu
November 6, 2007
Several members of the Sayville Fire Department are members of the Riders of Fire Motorcycle Club (ROFMC), whose Club is made up of all volunteer firefighters. The Club is a not-for-profit organization that raises money to donate to charitable causes, including firefighters in need. Members also assist other organizations with their charity fundraising activities.
ROFMC held a Charity Motorcycle Poker Run on Sunday, October 28 to raise money to assist firefighters and their families in need due to firefighters' illness or death. One of the stops along the run was Sayville Fire Department Headquarters. Sayville welcomed the riders and gave each rider his or her poker card(s) before sending them on their way to the last stop, which was Lindenhurst Fireman's Memorial Park.
