| On Friday morning, the Sayville Fire Department responded to a reported natural gas leak on Montauk Highway after an excavator accidentally struck an underground high-pressure gas main during construction. Firefighters quickly established a safe perimeter and deployed a hoseline to help disperse the escaping natural gas, reducing the potential for a hazardous buildup. Utility crews arrived promptly, located the appropriate valves, and safely isolated the damaged gas main. The incident was brought under control without injuries. Chief of Department Ryan Quarte directed operations at the scene. Do you have what it takes?
